New date for city-wide PAC chair/DPAC rep budget info/input meeting

The date for DPAC's annual budget information/input meeting with executive PAC reps from around the city has now been confirmed as Thursday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the VBE Boardroom at 1580 West Broadway. The presenter of  up-to-date budget information will be Assistant Secretary-Treasurer-Finance Rick Krowchuk. Notices will be emailed to PACs closer to the date with a more detailed agenda.

City-wide secondary PAC executive rep meeting has been postponed
DPAC currently has no date set for the annual city-wide secondary PAC executive representative meeting normally held in February. Due to Olympic transportation issues, DPAC will be holding no meetings in February.

BCCPAC planning meeting date will be moved forward
The date for the annual DPAC-sponsored meeting to review resolutions for the BCCPAC Annual General Meeting has been moved forward due to the earlier April BCCPAC AGM date this year. The date is Thursday,  April 8th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 120 at the VBE at 1580 West Broadway.

PACs invite city parents to meetings

Point Grey PAC
invites parents of secondary students to attend a presentation on Tuesday, evening, January 26th on Helping Your Adolescent Navigate Post-Secondary Options with Grace and Good Humour. The presenter is Melinda Giampietro. Tickets are $10, and may be purchased at the Point Grey Secondary office, 5350 East Boulevard.

Lord Byng PAC
in conjunction with the BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation invites city parents to In the Driver's Seat for parents of teens and new young drivers to help them manage the 'learn to drive' experience and keep our children safe. It will be held January 26th from 7:45 - 9:00 p.m. at Lord Byng Secondary at 3939 West 16th Ave. Registration: Sylvie at slefebvre50@gmail.com or 604-224-5722.

Weir and Oppenheimer PACs invite PACs to a presentation at Weir gym (2400 E. 44th Ave.)on Tuesday, February 2nd, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Boy Smarts - Effective Strategies for Parenting Boys. The  presenter is Barry MacDonald.Tickets are $10 per person until January 29th, and $15 per person after that date if space is available. Request tickets at weirpac@telus.net or oppenheimerpac@shaw.ca.

Carnarvon PAC invites parents to a talk on The Perils of Homework on Tuesday, February 2nd from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Carnarvon Gym at 3400 Balaclava Street. Tickets are $5 per Carnarvon parent until January 29th and then $8 at the door for all if available. Contact Lynda Lawrence at PACeducation@shaw.ca .

Magee PAC
in conjunctiion with the BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation invites city parents to In the Driver's Seat for parents of teens and new young drivers to help them manage the 'learn to drive' experience and keep our children safe. It will be held Tuesday, March 23rd from 7:00- 9:00  p.m. at Magee Secondary at 6360 Maple Street. No pre-registration required.

Templeton PAC
in conjunction with the BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation invites city parents to In the Driver's Seat for parents of teens and new young drivers to help them manage the 'learn to drive' experience and keep our children safe. It will be held Thursday, April 15th fr om 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Templeton Secondary at 727 Templeton Drive (2 blocks west of Nanaimo Street).
